Tony Bour
Tony Bour recently celebrated 42 years in the cabinet industry and is the CEO and president of Showplace Wood Products, a cabinet manufacturing company with plants in Harrisburg and Beresford, SD and retail showrooms in Harrisburg and Sioux Falls, SD; Urbandale, IA; Parker, CO; Fargo, ND; and Brainerd, MN. Established in 1999, Showplace Wood Products primarily distributes its customized cabinetry through 800+ independent kitchen and bath dealerships in all 50 states.
Showplace is the third cabinet manufacturing company founded by Tony — he previously founded StarMark Cabinetry in 1979 and Decora Cabinetry in 1976. All three are viable, nationally recognized brands today. Within the cabinet industry Tony served two terms as the president of the national trade association — the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturers Association (KCMA).
Tony and his wife Lorraine make their home in Sioux Falls, SD where he is active in the community. He is one of the founders of Forward Sioux Falls and over the years has been named South Dakota “1985 Small Business Person of the Year”, Sioux Falls “1990 Business Citizen of the Year”, and received the “2002 Spirit of Sioux Falls – Leadership Award.”
He has filled leadership roles for many community organizations including:
– South Dakota Symphony Orchestra (president of the board)
– McCrossan Boys Ranch (board chair)
– Great Plains Zoo (board chair)
– Sioux Falls Development Foundation (chairman)
– Forward Sioux Falls (chairman)
Tony has served as a director on the boards of Raven Industries and U.S. Bank South Dakota, both publicly traded companies. He has also served on the board and as board chairman for Sioux Valley Hospital (now Sanford Hospital).
Under Tony’s leadership Showplace Wood Products has been recognized as “South Dakota Business of the Year” in 2002 and was named “South Dakota Outstanding Philanthropic Business” in 2007.
