In our dedication to sales and marketing excellence, SME supports youth education through scholarship programs to encourage students to pursue sales and marketing careers. This year we will continue accepting applications for three scholarships that will be presented in April of 2012 to be used for the fall semester 2012.  The total face value of all three scholarships is $5,500 with the highest amount being $3,000.

Applications are online, or by calling the SME Sioux Falls office at 605-336-5626. Applications, questionnaires, transcripts, and resumes received by February 3, 2012 will be reviewed and judged by the SME Scholarship committee.  Applicants are evaluated on their completed application, written questionnaire, resume and their demonstrated leadership and academic achievements.

All applicants are notified of their status by March 14, 2012.

The committee will select three finalists.  All finalists will receive a scholarship.  To aid in the determination of the scholarship amount, each finalist will participate in an oral presentation.  The presentation, to be held in the afternoon of April 17, 2012, will include a 15 minute role-play in selling/marketing a service or product.

Scholarships will be announced and awarded at the evening award presentation on that date at Callaways in Sioux Falls.  All finalists must be in attendance at the evening banquet in order to keep their finalist status and to receive their award.
