These winners were presented their final awards at the SME Membership Meeting held on April 19th at the Hilton Garden Inn by SME President Doug Erickson and SME Scholarship Committee Chair Audra Staebell.
APRIL 2010 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
At a the April 2010 Membership meeting of the Sales and Marketing Executives, Inc. of Sioux Falls (SME) held at the Hilton Garden Inn, SME awarded $8,500 in scholarships to four talented individuals.
The $4000 Scholarship winner was Dustin Pratt from Castlewood, SD who is attending the University of South Dakota.
The $2000 Scholarship winner was Katelyn Tobin from Eden Prairie, MN who is attending Augustana.
One $1250 Scholarship winner is Kaitlyn Hemmingson from Spearfish, SD who is attending South Dakota State University and the other $1250 Scholarship winner is Andrew Nelson from Sioux Falls, SD who is attending the University of South Dakota.
Cindy Elifrits Peterson and Anita Wetsch, the 2009-10 SME President presented the awards.These four individuals participated in an oral presentation including a 15-minute role-play in selling/marketing a service or product. Members of the SME were judges for the oral presentations.
APRIL 2009 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS
The $4000 Scholarship winner was Suzanne Watts from Sioux Falls, SD who is attending South Dakota State University and presented Stair Step Storage. The $1500 Scholarship winner was Paula Dirksen from Twin Brooks, SD who is attending Augustana and presented Athena’s Adventures. One $1000 Scholarship winner is Kari Hipsak from Bismarck, ND who is attending Augustana and presented Karry-Alls and the other $1000 Scholarship winner is Abby Mehlbrech from Salem, SD who is attending Dakota State University and presented AFLAC. These four individuals participated in an oral presentation including a 15-minute role-play in selling/marketing a service or product. Members of SME were judges for the oral presentations. Each year the Sales and Marketing Executives, Inc. of Sioux Falls presents scholarships to four college students from funds raised through their youth benefit auction held in September.
